Chair of the Trustee Board

We have recently secured a five-year recommission and are preparing to launch a new strategic plan that will shape the future of our work. Our vision is of a world where everyone can live safely, with dignity and respect, free from domestic abuse and sexual violence. Our mission is grounded in the voices of survivors and the strength of our communities.

As Chair, you will guide the strategic direction of the Board, provide thoughtful scrutiny and collaborative leadership alongside the CEO, and represent Next Chapter externally with integrity and purpose. You’ll help shape the governance infrastructure and foster a culture of openness, inclusion, and strong partnership between Trustees and staff.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience chairing boards or committees, ideally within the voluntary or public sector.

• Is local enough to attend meetings in person and engage with regional networks.

• Can not only commit the time required to attend meetings, but also the time to provide strategic leadership, thoughtful planning, and responsive oversight.

• Brings strategic vision, integrity, and a collaborative approach.

• Is passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse.
