What to expect when you arrive at the Refuge Arriving at the Refuge can be an emotional rollercoaster, however with the welcoming staff available to support you, hopefully the anxiety will ease. Within your first few days of arrival you will meet your Children’s Support Worker (CSW) who will complete paperwork with you and your children regarding consent to support your children and assist with school applications, agreement to share information with other professionals and assessment of needs, including medical questions. If your child is preschool aged, then the Preschool Leader will be notified. The Preschool leader will then meet you to complete paperwork and discuss your child so their needs are completely met. Once your child is settled a key worker will be assigned in the Preschool, this is the person you can talk to if you have any concerns or achievements about your little one. Our aim is to make you feel as comfortable as possible whilst you’re staying with us.
