Your Role

As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will provide a high-quality domestic abuse support service to women, men and their families.

Working as part of the Community Outreach Team, you will manage referrals both in person and over the phone. You’ll use a needs-led, trauma informed approach to deliver an individually tailored support plan for service users.

Additionally, you will:

- Work with multiple agencies to ensure individuals are safe and do not become ‘high risk’ cases
- Carry out an initial needs and risk assessment for individuals
- Support individuals to build their resilience and future opportunities
- Encourage service users to get involved with in-house programmes or those provided by other community partners
- Signpost individuals to any other beneficial services

About You

To join us as a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will need:

- Experience of working with individuals experiencing domestic abuse and other vulnerabilities
- Previous experience of managing a caseload of service users with differing needs
- Experience of multi-agency legislative frameworks
- A good understanding of the affect domestic abuse has on victims and their children
- An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- A valid driving licence and access to your own transport

Experience of any of the following would be beneficial: partnership working, representing organisations at external meetings and conferences, using qualitative and quantitative data to compile reports, working with other domestic abuse services, or creating and delivering domestic abuse awareness and training packages.
