£23,182 - £25,482 depending on qualification & experience, on call duties paid separately

About You

We’re looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about supporting victims of domestic abuse.  You will have an in-depth knowledge and experience of domestic abuse and its impact on service users and their children, and experience of working with victims who have experienced domestic abuse including strong casework management skills and good knowledge of trauma-informed care. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication and good IT skills.   A friendly, flexible ‘can do’ attitude is essential for this role, which will also need to work within a multi-agency, partnership environment to secure the very best outcomes for our service users. We require you to be mobile as this is a community outreach role and therefore a valid drivers licence and access to a motor vehicle is essential.

The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality specialist front-line trauma informed domestic abuse support to males living in North and Mid Essex, working with colleagues and other statutory and voluntary agencies to assist service users to access services to support and keep them safe and to rebuild their lives. Next Chapter prides itself on being needs and client led in the support we offer. We achieve this by working with clients to create a structured and tailored support plan based on the desired outcomes the client has identified for themselves.

The postholder will have experience in working with risk and will understand the dynamics of risk and how to effectively mitigate risks with a robust safety plan which is devised with each client and considers their needs and circumstances

They will also be responsible for developing partnerships and relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies and local and national specialist agencies working within the local community, and to work with those agencies to increase staff awareness and to increase confidence, skills and knowledge in relation to domestic abuse.
